How to visit the Grand Canyon National Park?
The park has two Rims with three major entrances. To enter the South Rim you can take the South entrance and the East entrance and to enter the North Rim you can take the North entrance. Each rim offers a different experience. You can choose entrance as per your preference
By Car
You can travel there by car from the nearest cities, such as Flagstaff, Phoenix, Williams, Sedona, etc. I mentioned here that Flagstaff to the Grand Canyon is the most preferred route.
To go from Flagstaff to the Grand Canyon, first, you must take Highway 89 north to Cameron, Arizona. Then, from Cameron, you need to take Highway 64 west to the East Entrance on the South Rim. The East Entrance on the South Rim is also known as Desert View, a famous route into the park.
By Public Transport
You will be happy knowing that direct train service is operated from the nearby town to the park, especially during peak seasons. You have to go to the Williams railway station to get the Grand Canyon Railway service train to reach Grand Canyon Park directly.
In addition, some transport agencies have rail service. You can go to Flagstaff by their rail service, then you can get a connected bus or taxi to reach the canyon. This taxi, or company car, is issued Commercial Use Authorizations by the National Park Service.

Nearest Airports
Grand Canyon Airport is the nearest airport to Grand Canyon National Park and approximately 7 miles or 11 kilometers away from the South Rim. However, this airport primarily serves private aircraft and charter flights, which is why there are limited commercial air services available to Grand Canyon National Park Airport.
You can take off to Flagstaff Pulliam Airport (FLG) which is also the closest regional airport in Arizona. You can get many commercial flights from major airlines from this airport. This airport is 80 miles away from the south of the South Rim. It typically takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to reach the park from this airport.
Furthermore, you can choose Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) which is the closest major airport to the park. It typically takes about 4 hours to reach the park from this airport.
